Welcome to SnookerActive, a national project aimed at kick starting disability snooker at grassroots level. Snooker is accessible to almost anyone, and our experience is that you can attract people who aren’t interested in other activities to snooker sessions. Snooker is the foundation for including disability groups in your community, informal sessions lead on to the UK Snooker Awards TM. The UK Snooker Awards TM can help you transform your snooker room into a vibrant snooker academy by becoming a training centre for our accredited snooker courses. The UK Snooker Awards TM course is very popular with schools, colleges and other organisations, students can achieve GCSE credits. By becoming a UK Snooker Centre Of Excellence you will open up opportunities to secure funding. As a UK Snooker Awards TM training provider you will receive full support from the UK Snooker Awards TM team. Tel: 0114 2242346 or 0786 4046826 [email protected] |

If disability snooker groups are to grow they will have to get away from just being snooker groups and benefit from introducing professional coaching standards and accredited qualifications. Society needs its disability snooker groups to prosper. We need them to be places where people want to play and learn, be included and generally become hubs for their communities, in short become places where people live their lives. Speakers will provide background thinking, report from real life stories, discuss how to balance the needs of disability snooker groups and how to develop accredited snooker clubs for people of all ages and abilities.
Training with Aaron Firth from Mencap Gateway in Sheffield.Aaron Firth attended the UK Snooker Awards two day Train the Trainer course at The Stephen Harrison Academy in Sheffield.
Aaron said, "A truly inspirational, fantastic two day course. Steve's training is most informative, as well as knowing everything about snooker he his an excellent motivational speaker. I will certainly apply Steve's techniques in my everyday life. I feel so much more positive after attending the course." |
